Trujillo: home of the conquistadors
From afar, the medieval hilltop town of Trujillo is a stirring sight. Its church towers and castle walls rise out of the deserted plain.
Twenty five years ago the photographer Andy Teare went to the wedding of his friend, the journalist Peter Barron. His present was a photograph from Spain. Soon afterwards, he moved there and they lost touch. Last year, he saw an Instagram post about Peter's guidebook to Spain and got back in contact. They discovered they were living at opposite ends of Spain's remotest region: Extremadura. Sharing a passion for this beautiful, historic, but little-visited part of Spain, they decided to create this blog to celebrate it.
